It has been reported that Vitor Belfort, coming off of his impressive knockout victory over Terry Martin at Affliction "Banned," will be facing Matt Lindland at Affliction’s encore show set to take place on October 11th in Las Vegas.

Speculation is that this fight could actually be for the vacant WAMMA middleweight title. There is also the possibility that it could be simply an Affliction title they are vying for.

In either case it makes for a very interesting match up, pitting the well known striker against the world class wrestler.

One notable thing being taken into consideration is the fact that Vitor Belfort suffered a broken hand in his fight with Terry Martin. Though Belfort does claim it will be no problem.

“The doctor will analyze it, but I may stay four weeks out. I’ll come back in October 11th to fight Matt Lindland for the belt”, says Belfort.

Belfort went on to comment about the fight stating: “It’ll be a great fight, we’ll see who is the best of the world there”.

He also commented on the fact that he doesn’t think Lindland will be able to manhandle him the way he handled Negao. “I saw his fight with Negão and he’s a warrior… He comes be over you, but I don’t think he has the strength to stay over me”.

He ended by predicting the fight will end in his favor via KO. “I’ll go to knock him out… My punches are well-aimed and when it hits he won’t stand”.
