Important news, announcements and interesting moments during UFC 85
- The first fight between Werdum and Vera ends in a controversial fashion. Vera was extremely upset in what could be considered a premature stoppage and says in his post fight interview quote "It’s 15 seconds left in the round, let me take that ass whoopin, lets go to round two."
- The second fight ends in a unique fashion as well. Marquardt clearly won the fight but lost a split decision because of the two points that were taken away from him for illegal strikes. If the second point wasn’t taken away from Nate for what looked to be a legal strike in the replay, the fight would have been and probably should have been ruled a draw.
