You could feel the energy at the Bell Centre in Montreal as the 22 fighters, scheduled to fight at tomorrow nights epic UFC 83 event, hit the scales.

3,000 screaming fans (and possibly one Matt Serra fan) were in attendance to see their fellow Canadian fighters, or more specifically George St. Pierre, weigh in today at the Montreal Canadians hometown arena.

All 22 fighters made weight and the main event was made official as both Matt Serra and challenger George St. Pierre weighed in at 169.5lbs. Hometown boy "Rush" St. Pierre received a huge ovation while Serra was greeted with an unvoiced linguolabial trill. Serra wasn’t the only one to receive a harsh welcome as he entered the arena. Travis Lutter also received an onslaught of boos most likely for his gigantic blunder back at UFC 67 where he missed weight and lost a shot at the title against Anderson Silva.

Tension was high between St. Pierre and Serra during the stare down but Bisping and McCarthy’s stare down took the cake. Both fighters rubbed noses and traded words in what was an extremely tense moment. Dana White had to separate the two who were chomping at the bit to get at each others throats.
