On September 20th, Ashe Bowman will get an opportunity that most will never see; A trip to the legendary Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, CA.

Unfortunately for Bowman his trip to the 22 room mansion won’t consist of a night in the grotto surrounded by Playboy Playmates and expensive champagne.

Instead Bowman will face one of the biggest challenges of his mixed martial arts career, a three round brawl with the reigning Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh "The Punk" Thomson.

Strikeforce VP Mike Afromowitz confirmed the non-title bout with Sherdog on Friday.

Ever since Thomson’s loss to UFC vet Clay Guida in 2006, "The Punk" has been on a tear, defeating all seven of his last opponents and finishing all but two of them. Thomson’s most recent victory was the biggest and most important of his career. The 29 year old took out Cesar Gracie product Gilbert Melendez in dominating fashion, winning all five rounds to secure the unanimous decision.

Ashe Bowman, Lion’s Den product and Big John McCarthy look alike in my opinion, is a submission fighter who has spent most of his career fighting under Ken Shamrock’s organization, KSP. When choosing Thomson’s opponent, it came down to a battle between journeyman Jay Estrada and Bowman. Unfortunately for Estrada, The Playboy Mansion won’t be on his list of vacation spots for 2008.

Thomson vs Bowman tops off a card that so far consists of a Strikeforce light heavyweight title fight between Bobby Southworth and "Babalu" along with a middleweight showdown between UFC veteran Joe Riggs and Japan’s Kazuo Misaki.
