John Gunderson is officially out with a hand injury and is being replaced by Ryan “The Lion” Schultz. Gunderson sustained the injury in training right after being named as the replacement for Horodecki’s original opponent Shad Lierly.
Ryan “The Lion” Schultz is a current member of the Wolfpack fight team, coached by Matt Lindland and based in Portland, OR. Schultz record is 4-2 and is undefeated in his last 3 IFL appearances. He has victories over opponents Joe Sampieri, Savant Young, and Aaron Riley. One of his only two defeats came at the hands of Chris Horodecki by technical knockout in November of 2006.
Schultz will have his work cut out for him going up against “The Polish Hammer” who’s record is unblemished at 11 wins and no losses in the International Fight League. The IFL World Grand Prix, in an unprecedented move, will feature five Championship bouts on Saturday, December 29.
