UFC veteran Jeremy Horn has been forced to withdrawal from his upcoming bout at UFC Fight Night 15 against Brazilian Wilson Gouveia due to a lingering wrist injury.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed the news today after speaking with Horn himself about the injury. Sources close to Jeremy also said that Ryan Jensen has been tapped as Horn’s replacement for the upcoming bout.

Horn is unable to even make a fist much less spend three rounds possibly exchanging punches with Gouveia, a seasoned striker.

“I have no grip strength, I can’t make a fist, and I can’t punch anything. I’m pretty useless.”

Horn has had problems with his wrist for the past month. And while doctors confirmed that is wasn’t broken, he does have some torn ligaments and tendons which could keep him out of action for an extended period of time. Ironically a break would have actually been easier to recover from.

Horn has struggled as of late stringing together two losses in a row in the UFC this year. He lost both fights to the same submission, a guillotine choke. That being said both of his opponents, Nate Marquardt and Dean Lister, were proficient jiu-jitsu practitioners.

Ryan Jensen recently broke a three fight losing streak in June, defeating Mitch Whitesel at Sportfight 23. Two of his most recent losses were in the UFC so he desperately needs a win on September 17th in his hometown of Omaha, NE.

Wilson Gouveia on the other hand has been virtually blowing through the UFC’s light heavyweight division. He had won four straight in the UFC before finally succumbing to UFC newcomer Goran Reljic at UFC 84 in May. However, he gave the Croatian one hell of a striking battle before eventually losing via TKO in the second round.
