Matt’s next opponent inside the political cage will be Democratic winner, Suzanne VanOrman, who he will battle it out with in the general election on November 4th. 37 year old, Matt "The Law" Lindland, was born in Oregon and lives there to this day. The accomplished wrestler and top ten ranked middleweight, heads up his successful Team Quest Martial Arts and Fitness in Portland Oregon where he sculpts some of the world’s top fighters. He is an Olympic silver medallist and former UFC fighter. Lindland’s choice to run for the House, came at the last minute, after the House seat was vacated by Republican Patti Smith who retired. Endorsed by the Oregonian newspaper, "The Law" doesn’t seem to be discouraged by the fact that he has no previous political experience. It has been over a year since Lindland has competed in MMA. In his last bout he suffered a first round submission loss to Fedor Emelianenko at BodogFIGHT "Clash of the Nations". He will face Fabio Negao at Affliction’s upcoming debut event "Banned" on July 19 at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Matt was in New York City on Wednesday promoting Afflictions inaugural show where he also briefly celebrated his political victory. |
