MMAweekly first reported that Jim Miller will be stepping in to replace the injured Spencer Fisher to take on Marcus Aurelio at UFC Fight Night 13 next month.

Although the bout won’t make it onto the televised portion of the stacked 13 bout fight card we can look forward to an extra hour of fights thanks to Spike TV’s one hour extension of the original two-hour broadcast.

UFC Fight Night 13 is definitely the most talent rich card ever put together for a Fight Night event in the history of the UFC special. The event will take place on April 2 at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colorado. UFC.com confirmed yesterday that Spencer Fisher was forced to withdrawal from his bout with Marcus after injuring his shoulder during training.

Jim Miller has been extremely impressive as of late and is the current Ring of Combat lightweight champion as well as the Cage Fury Fighting Championships lightweight champion. With a record of 10 wins and only one loss to his name, Miller definitely knows how to finish a fight. Eight of his eleven fights have ended by way of submission.

In a recent rematch with Chris Liguori at Ring of Combat 18, Miller wiped out any doubts that his first fight with Liguori was a fluke. He defeated Chris via guillotine choke at 2:22 in the second round. Besides his impressive record and twin championship belts, a few of Miller’s top accomplishments include going the distance with rising UFC star, Frank Edgar and a win over Muhsin Corbbrey from EliteXC.

Marcus "Maximus" Aurelio will by far be Miller’s biggest test to date. At 15-5 Aurelio has fought top level competition including Clay Guida, Takanori Gomi x2, Dokonjonosuke Mishima and Rich Clementi. Like Miller, Aurelio favors submissions so we could see a possible stale mate on the ground or maybe some nice stand up action. Aurelio fights out of American Top Team and hails from Brazil.
