A new opponent for Chris Horodecki, who was recently snagged by Affliction after the IFL closed it’s doors for good, has finally been announced for Affliction "Day of Reckoning" in October.

The 20 year old prodigy and poster child for the now defunct International Fight League will face Dan Lauzon, the brother of TUF alumni and UFC vet Joe Lauzon who brought down the house with his upset victory over Jens Pulver back at UFC 63.

According to Sherdog.com, who broke the news today, both lightweights have agreed to the Oct. 11 bout but have yet to sign bout agreements. Apparently Lauzon is waiting to the see bout sheet for the fight before committing to a multi-fight deal with the organization.

Horodecki was a red hot commodity before Affliction scooped him up around the beginning of this month. "The Polish Hammer" signed a three fight deal with the organization who is looking to diversify their roster of fighters with some lighter weights for future cards.

Horodecki, who has been under the wing of the legendary Bas Rutten from day one, stormed through his first seven fights in the IFL winning all of them in impressive fashion. His epic run finally came to a halt at the World Grand Prix Finals at the end of 07 when he lost to Ryan Shultz via TKO. Chris picked up the pieces and rebounded with a victory over Nate Lamotte in April of this year. He hasn’t fought since then.

Dan Lauzon, another youngster with great potential, is currently flying high on a six fight win streak. He finished five of the six opponents with strikes and one with a submission. Dan is currently under a non-exclusive contract with World Championship Fighting, a Massachusetts-based organization run by Joe Cavallaro.
