Gerald Harris Cast for “The Ultimate Fighter 7″

Gerald Harris is the latest cast member chosen for season 7 of the hit reality show "The Ultimate Fighter" on Spike TV.

Gerald Harris is 28 years old and a former middleweight in the International Fight League. His professional mma record is 6-2 with a mixture of finishing techniques including two knockouts and three submissions. Harris attended college at Cleveland State University where he enjoyed a successful career in collegiate wrestling.

His record was 40-5 his senior year and he qualified three times for the NCAA championships.

After graduating Harris taught history in high school and coached the school’s wrestling team. The Oklahoma native turned pro in August of 2006 and started off his mixed martial arts career with five wins in a row. He was picked up by the IFL’s Portland Wolfpack team as an alternate and unfortunately lost his IFL debut in a close decision to Fabio Leopoldo in April of 07. He later switched teams and joined the Iowa Silverback’s to continue his stint in the highly competitive fight league.

"The Ultimate Fighter 7" will make it’s debut on April 2 and will feature two extreme personalities in the world of mixed martial arts. It should be a fun season as coaches Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and season one winner Forrest Griffin compete against one another in an effort to take their top middleweights to the finals. This season should be much more exciting with the brand new 32 man format. This year there will be sixteen do or die fights in the first two episodes of the show. The 16 winners get to stay in the famed Ultimate Fighter house while the 16 losers are sent right back to where they came from.

Gerald Harris brings the total to 18 fighters that have been revealed for the show so far. The other 17 are Mike Dolce, Reggie Orr, Jesse Taylor, Aaron Meisner, Timothy Credeur, Brandon Sene, David Roberts, Mike Marrello, Paul Bradley, Dan Simmler, Amir Sadollah, Jeremiah Riggs, Matt Brown, Prince Mclean, CB Dollaway, Steve Byrnes, and Luke Zachrich.
