HDNet Fights commentator Ron Kruck just announced during DREAM.6 that Fedor Emelianenko could continue his New Years Eve tradition at a rumored year end DREAM show against the winner of Mirko Cro Cop vs Alistair Overeem.

Fedor has competed in a New Years Eve event for the last five years in a row. At the last New Year’s Eve show Fedor obliterated the 7′2 350lb giant Hong Man Choi with an armbar in under two minutes.

Fedor confirmed that he wants to compete at the year end show during an in-ring speech at tonight’s event. While greeting the fans, he also mentioned that he would like to wrestle 2008 Olympic Judo Gold Medalist Satishi Ishii who challenged the “The Last Emperor” to a fight in August after his gold medal performance.

If Cro Cop gets through Overeem and is presented the opportunity to fight Emelianenko, it will be the second time the two have met. In their first meeting at Pride “Final Conflict” 2005, Mirko made it three rounds with the Russian but ended up losing the decision in what was one of the most memorable Pride fights of all time.

This bout would obviously debunk the rumored bout between the winner of Cro Cop vs Overeem and Sergei Kharitonov who easily pounded his way to a victory tonight against American Jimmy Ambriz.
