MMAontap.com just reported that Evan Tanner will be taking on "The Spider" Kendall Grove at "The Ultimate Fighter 7" Finale which is set to take place on June 21st. The bout has since been confirmed on Kendall Grove’s official website. Sources close to the fight confirmed with MMA On Tap that bout agreements have been signed. There is no news however if the fight will make it on the televised portion of the card. The former UFC middleweight champion will be looking to rebound from his tough loss at UFC 82 last month to middleweight contender Yushin Okami. Tanner got caught with a knee that knocked him out at the three minute mark of round number two. Before his fight with Okami it had been almost two years since he had competed. |

Tanner has went through a lot of hardships including a problem with alcoholism which he talks about on his personal blog at EvanTanner.net. The former champ has been in the ring with the best of the best and has wins over the likes of David Terrell, Robbie Lawler, Phil Baroni x2, Travis Fulton, Paul Buentello and more. This next fight will be very critical for Tanner if he is to mount any type of successful comeback in the UFC. This will also be a huge fight for Kendall Grove who has now lost two in a row in the UFC. Grove was on a 3-0 roll in the UFC and looked extremely good until falling to a revitalized Patrick Cote at UFC 74 last August. He followed that fight with a loss to another fighter who seems to have a renewed spirit in Jorge Rivera. Rivera knocked out Grove via punches in less than a minute and a half in the first round. This fight could possibly be the biggest fight in both of their careers which should make for a very exciting showdown. Who knows where Grove will end up if he ends up losing three straight in the UFC? With Evan Tanner, two losses in a row could be very disheartening and a huge stumble on his comeback trail.
