EliteXC "Street Certified" live results and play by play action will be posted here Saturday February 16 at 10pm ET/PT.

I will start posting quick results for the undercard bouts at around 7:30pm ET. Play by play commentary for the main televised card will begin at 10pm ET sharp. There will also be a section where I will write about anything exciting or interesting that happens during the event (like Tank getting drunk before his fight for example).

EliteXC "Street Certified" Main Card Play by Play Commentary

James Thompson vs Brett Rogers (265lbs)

  • Round 1: Thompson came out and ran straight to Rogers to shoot for a takedown. He was denied and they clinched. Thompson threw an uppercut. Thompson goes for a single. He gets Rogers down but Rogers stands right back up. Rogers lands a brutal knee. He then lands a vicious combo and knocks out Rogers cold. Rogers stunned tries to tie up the ref on the mat.

  • Final Result: Brett Rogers wins via TKO at 2:24 in the 1st

Yves Edwards vs James Edson Berto (160lbs)

  • Round 1: Edwards lands a nice leg kick and a brutal body kick. A nice combo returned from Berto who then takes down Yves. Berto is now in side control. Yves gets into half guard and Berto gets Yves in a vicious guillotine but Yves escapes and works a kimura. Technical jiu-jitsu being displayed on the ground. Berto escapes the kimura. Yves is on top working punches to the body. More body shots from Yves. Edwards is also extremely active from the bottom with strikes. The ref stands them up. Berto lands a huge head kick who then goes for a takedown. Yves standing on one leg jumps and knees Berto right in the head and knocks him out cold.

  • Final Result: Yves Edwards wins via KO (Knee) at 4:56 in the 1st

Scott Smith vs Kyle Noke (185lbs)

  • Round 1: Both fighters are feeling each other out with jabs. Noke lands a big leg kick. Noke is getting the better of the stand up but Smith is landing here and there. Noke has a cut under his right eye. The crowd is booing. Noke keeps landing jabs. Smith lands an uppercut. Scott starts to unload some punches and after a long feeling out process the round is over. A slow round to start things off. I would score it 10/9 for Noke.
  • Round 2: Right after the bell rings Scott Smith rings the bell of Noke with a brutal one punch knock out.
  • Round 3:
  • Final Result: Scott Smith wins via KO at 0:07 in the 2nd

Antonio Silva vs Ricco Rodriguez (265lbs)

  • Round 1: Both fighters trade some shots still feeling each other out. Silva lands a kick and a right hand. Nice jab from Silva. Silva lands another kick and a punch and Ricco takes down Silva. Ricco lands some little punches and elbows from the top in full guard. Ricco lands a nice short elbow. The round ends.
  • Round 2: A small exchange gets things going for round number two. Ricco catches a leg but fails to get the takedown. Ricco shoots and they clinch. Silva escapes and starts to tee off on Ricco. Silva starts to drop hammer fist and takes Ricco’s back. He loses it but passes back to side control. Ricco gains half guard. Silva is landing some heavy shots. He lands some more big punches and some hammer fist to follow. The ref stands them up. Ricco has a giant nasty gash over his left eye. Ricco says he can’t see out of it but says he can still fight. They end up on the ground and Silva goes for the anaconda and the round ends.
  • Round 3: Ricco lands a nice kick and then gets taken down by Silva. Silva starts to reign down the heavy hammer fist. He lands some more hammer fist. Both fighters are looking fatigued. The crowd starts to boo. The ref stands them up. Silva lands a huge body kick. Ricco shoots and is denied. They clinch and Ricco finally gets the takedown. Ricco lands some little shots. Ricco in full guard isn’t doing much. Ricco tries to make an impression and starts to throw punches to the body and the round ends.
  • Final Result: Antonio Silva wins via Split Decision after 3 rounds

Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott (265lbs)

  • Round 1: They come out swinging and they clinch. Kimbo lands some heavy shots. Tank goes down to his knees as Kimbo starts to tee off on the back of Tanks head. The ref jumps in and everyone thinks it is over. The ref ends up deducting a point from Kimbo for blows to the back of the head. They come back out and Kimbo starts blasting away at Tank rocking him numerous times until Tank finally gets knocked out and lands flat on his face. The crowd goes nuts.

  • Final Result: Kimbo Slice wins via KO Punch at 0:43 in the 1st
