On December 13th at 10PM CNBS will be airing an exclusive one hour documentary titled “Ultimate Fighting: From Blood Sport to Big Time”.
The one hour special reported by CNBC’s Scott Wapner will tell the story behind the rise of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It will look at the UFC from a business standpoint and as a cultural phenomenon. From its underground beginnings to its mainstream success as one of the world’s fastest growing sports organizations, the UFC is raking in millions of dollars in ticket sales.
The program will profile UFC President and frontman Dana White who dropped out of college at South Boston and fought his way to the top of the sport overcoming many obstacles that stood in the way of the UFC. The show will also examine the the UFC’s presence on the landscape of popular culture and look at the organizations approach to marketing including promotions, endorsements and movie deals linked to the sport.
Last but not least CNBC will take you to the Vegas strip for a night of fights inside the octagon. This should be a great documentary so tune in and let me know what you think about it. I am anxious to see how they portray the sport. Will they portray mma as the dignified sport that it is or as brutal warfare that should be banned.
In case you miss the first showing they will re-air the program on Sunday, December 16th at 10PM ET and Monday, December 17th at 9PM & 12AM ET. For more information click here.
