MMAjunkie.com recently reported that Lyoto Machida has been offered a fight with "The Huntington Beach Badboy" Tito Ortiz. Machida’s manager, Ed Soares stated that they have accepted the fight and they are now waiting to see if Tito accepts the invitation. There has been no mention of a date for the fight. Lyoto Machida remains undefeated with a recent win over highly touted Rameau Sokoudjou at UFC 79. Machida completely dominated the "African Assassin". |

He picked him apart with punches and kicks and submitted him in the 2nd round. This last win brings his streak to 12 wins in a row and 4 straight in the UFC. Tito Ortiz claims that he only has one fight left in his contract with the UFC but negotiations are under way for a new contract. This would no doubt need to be in place before the fight with Machida can be made official. This would be Ortiz’s first fight since his draw with Rashad Evans at UFC 73 in July. I will let you know as soon as I get the official confirmation of the fight. More mixed martial arts news is on the way! |
