MMANews.com reported earlier today that Jason "Mayhem" Miller will temporarily refrain from fighting crime on May 11 to do battle with Katsuyori Shibata at DREAM.3 in Japan. The bout will most likely be a "Masters Fight" since Miller will not be participating in the DREAM.2 Middleweight Grand Prix which kicks off today, April 29, in Saitama, Japan. When asked who is opponent would be, Mayhem referred to Shibata as "the guy who fought Sakuraba and tripped coming to the ring". Miller, who is currently 20-5, last fought at HDNet Fights "Reckless Abandon" event back in December 2007. He took home a unanimous decision win over three time All Army Combative’s Tournament champion, Tim Kennedy, in a three round war. |

While the quiet and extremely shy Jason Miller is on a three fight win streak, his opponent Katsuyori Shibata is exactly the opposite losing his last three bouts in a row. With a 2-3 record, Shibata definitely won’t be Miller’s biggest test to date but anything can happen in MMA. Katsuyori most recently lost to Min Suk Heo via TKO at K-1 Hero’s 2007 in Korea. |
