The UFC confirmed today that Jason Day will step in to replace Chris Leben at UFC 85 in London against "The Count" Michael Bisping.

After turning himself in last week, Leben received a 35 day jail sentence on Thursday for a probation violation and therefore will not have sufficient time to prepare for the upcoming match with Bisping.

"Obviously I was looking forward to the Leben fight but I guess it wasn’t to be,” said Bisping. "You have to respect Jason Day for stepping in on even shorter notice than myself. I am looking forward to really putting on a great performance in London."

17-5 Jason "Dooms" Day from Lethbridge, Alberta, is an extremely well rounded fighter who knows how to finish his opponents. Out of his 17 victories, he has finished 8 via (T)KO and 8 via submission. Day stormed onto the seen at UFC 83 in Montreal, making quick work of the highly touted, Alan Belcher, stopping him with punches in under 4 minutes of the first round. Things worked out perfect for the Canadian who has been telling people he wanted to fight Bisping next.

Jason has his hands full with Bisping who recently moved down in weight at UFC 83 to take on middleweight, Charles "Chainsaw" McCarthy, who has since retired. After almost getting caught in an armbar early in the first, Bisping swarmed back with a barrage of knees and punches to take the victory via TKO after one round. "The Count" looked quick and lean at his new weight and said that he felt better at 185lb as well. Michael expects his fight with Day to be a war.

"Jason Day looked bloody dangerous in his fight with Belcher and I think this fight has exactly the same potential as the Leben fight to be a real war,” said Bisping.
