Gina Carano will appear as “Crush” on the new and improved American Gladiators premiering on January 6 on NBC.

The female mma sensation is not just a gladiator on the show but also in the cage where she flaunts a perfect record of 5-0.

The EliteXC fighter recently earned her first career submission victory in September submitting Tonya Evinger with a rear naked choke. But this isn’t the first time the 25 year old has traded blows. Before her mma career she competed in Muay Thai competitions and boasted a record of 12-1-1.

Gina will join fellow Gladiators “Helga”, “Siren”, “Stealth”, “Fury”, and “Venom” on the show to compete with amateur athletes in various competitions.

The remake of the original show, which aired from 1989 to 1996, will be hosted by Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali. The show apparently was given a shot after reruns of the original series, currently airing on ESPN Classic, drew solid ratings. The one hour show will come on Mondays at 8PM and debuts with a special two hour premier on Sunday.
