Payouts (salaries) were revealed today for the EliteXC Street Certified event that took place this past weekend on Saturday, February 16. Kimbo Slice was the top paid fighter bringing home $175,000 worth of bread for the 43 seconds it took to plant Tank’s face on the mat. Tank came in a close second making $126,000 for his compelling performance. It’s obviously not how good you are, but how many people you can bring to the fight. Ricco Rodriguez for instance made only $20,000 for is three round war with Antonio "Big Foot" Silva who made $80,000. |

Here are the official payouts for EliteXC "Street Certified"
Total payout for the event was $479,001. These are the official figures from the Florida State Boxing Commission. James Thompson lost his fight and still made $21,000 more than his opponent Brett Rogers who knocked him out in stunning fashion. Surprisingly he was one of four fighters who lost and still made more than their opponent. The other three were Dave Herman, Eric Bradley, and Lorenzo Borgomeo. Amazingly Moyses Gabin only made out with a buck for his win over Hlavati in the first fight of the night. I will update you if I find out why. These figures do not include sponsor payouts, fight bonuses nor deductions for expenses such as insurance, taxes etc. To see the results from EliteXC "Street Certified" see the mma results page. |

The five fights on the main card are pretty rich in talent and should make for some very exciting action in the cage. Three of the fights on the main card will feature the big boys at 265lbs. Ricco Rodriguez who was recently a cast member on Celebrity Rehab, will be looking to clean up his act along with his record as he takes on the agile Antonio Silva. In the other battle of the heavies, English fighter James "The Colossus" Thompson will be looking to knock out the undefeated Brett Rogers who is likely planning to return the favor. The middleweights will also go to war as the Aussie Kyle Noke squares off against heavy handed UFC vet Scott Smith. The fifth fight on the main card will feature the always exciting Yves Edwards taking on James Edson Berto in a battle of the lightweights. All 22 fighters made weight. The only two people who had any trouble were Kyle Noke and Mikey Gomez who returned to make weight on their second attempts. The weigh in video can be seen on the front page of ProElite.com.
