Apparently things are a little more serious than expected for Aleksander Emelianenko who was recently pulled from his bout with Paul Buentello due to a medical clearance issue. Confusion set in during the Affliction "Banned" weigh-ins, when Aleksander and his opponent were told that they would not be hitting the scales just minutes before they were scheduled to make weight. All that was known at the time was that Aleksander failed to meet the required medical licensing standards to participate in the event. According to MMANews.com, Aleksander’s blood tests came back right before the weigh-ins, causing the confusion around the stage. |

Unfortunately this could spell disaster for the rising Russian star and his future in the sport. It is very possible that this could be the end to his blossoming career. Paul Bradley, a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 7, was sent home after a rash appeared on his neck that turned out to be Herpes Simplex. The team refused to even train with him afraid of catching the same thing. Hepatitis B is much more serious, which means he will most likely never fight on U.S. soil again. As for back home, it will likely be the same result. Update: The Russian Red Devils member denied the rumor and claimed that absolutely nothing is wrong with him physically. Apparently unaware of how strict the CSAC is, he claims that he was simply late in getting his Visa which caused his removal from the bout.
Until we find out the hard facts regarding this issue, we can only speculate. He could of course be denying the allegations to protect his reputation. We will keep you posted on any new details regarding this story! |
