Affliction has entered into a new partnership with Mark Cuban’s HDNet Fights that will allow the organization to air three of their “Day of Reckoning” undercard bouts in the popular HD format.

The hour and a half time slot they were given will feature a welterweight battle between Jason High and Mike Pyle followed by a heavyweight slugfest featuring “The Headhunter” Paul Buentello and Roy “Big Country” Nelson. As of now, the third match up has yet to be announced.

It seems that after testing the waters with FSN for Affliction “Banned,” the organization has finally settled in for the long haul with HDNet.

“This is the beginning of a long-term partnership with Affliction that encompasses live MMA, co-marketing and top fighters for the top weekly show in MMA — ‘Inside MMA’ on HDNet,” stated Andrew Simon, HDNet Fights CEO. “Affliction has quickly become one of the top organizations in MMA, which means it is a must have for HDNet.”

We will keep you updated and let you know as soon as the third undercard bout is revealed. For the complete fight card and details regarding Affliction’s next show visit AfflictionDayofReckoning.com.

As we announced on Wednesday, Affliction teamed up with Waltrip Racing to promote their upcoming show in Vegas. Previously only prototype pics of the car were floating around. The real deal looks wicked and should play a significant roll in the promotion of their encore event.

Affliction made history with the new partnership becoming the first MMA organization in history to partner with a car in Nascar.

Affliction Clothing, after a few weeks of build up and suspense, has finally unveiled their official website and fight card for “Day of Reckoning” set to take place on October 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Like the “Banned” site, the new site features a promo video on the main page along with links to the fight card, tickets, how to watch, etc…

Affliction “Day of Reckoning” will attempt to replicate the success of their first show with a card that falls a little short of their first star-studded heavyweight showcase.

And while it may lack the fire power of the first event which featured the greatest heavyweight of all time, Fedor Emelianeko, it will feature an array of new talent, many of which were picked up from the now defunct “International Fight League” including the poster child of the organization, Chris “The Polish Hammer” Horodecki.

A main event between former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and “The Babyface Assassin” Josh Barnett shouldn’t disappoint either.

Affliction “Day of Reckoning” Official Fight Card

  • Andrei Arlovski vs Josh Barnett
  • Vladimir Matyushenko vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
  • Jay Hieron vs Drew Fickett
  • Dan Lauzon vs Chris Horodecki
  • Matt Lindland vs Trevor Prangley
  • Paul Buentello vs Roy Nelson
  • Mike Pyle vs Jason High
  • Antonio Duarte vs Albert Rios
  • Jay White vs Chase Gormley
  • More bouts to be added…

Affliction has teamed up with successful Nascar racing team "Michael Waltrip Racing" to promote their upcoming show "Day of Reckoning" on October 11 in Las Vegas.

The organization will unveil their wrapped #00 Toyota with Mike Skinner at the driver seat at this Sunday’s Pepsi 500 at Auto Club Speedway in Southern, CA.

“Affliction is proud to make racing history as the first MMA organization to sponsor a car in NASCAR,” said Tom Atencio, vice president of Affliction Entertainment. “NASCAR fans are huge supporters of MMA and this is a great collaboration for both sports.”

Waltrip spoke about the ground breaking partnership that moves MMA one step closer to world-wide acceptance as a main stream sport.

“It’s great to have Affliction Entertainment as a Michael Waltrip Racing partner,” said Michael Waltrip, driver of the #55 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota and founder of Michael Waltrip Racing. “Our partnership with Affliction and MMA allows us to connect with millions of fans in a unique way.”

In addition to the advertising on the car which will be displayed for 250 laps around the D-shaped oval track on Sunday, Affliction’s sophomore event will also be promoted to the thousands of die hard fans in attendance through a variety of promotional platforms on Sunday.

Xtreme Couture’s Jay White (2-5) will take on Chase Gormley (6-0) at Affliction’s encore show "Day of Reckoning" on October 11th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas.

The preliminary fight, which will air on the HDNet portion of the card, was announced by White’s sponsor, Throwdown Industries. The fight will be White’s first of a three fight deal he signed with the fledgling MMA promotion.

While the 6′3 260lb heavyweight’s pro career has gotten off to a rocky start, he has battled some of the sports best during his short career and only loss to top notch fighters such as UFC veterans Jeff Monson, Jake O’Brien, and Christian Wellisch.

White is coming off a submission victory over Patrick Castillo at HDNet Fights "Reckless Abandon" back in December of last year.

Jay will have his work cut out for him as he battles the undefeated Chase Gormley who has won six straight since beginning his pro career back in April of 07. Chase is coming off of an impressive win over 340lb Eric "Big" Pele at Maximum Fighting Championships 16 "Anger Management" in May of this year. He defeated the heavy handed Pele via unanimous decision.

Affliction’s "Day of Reckoning" card is starting to fill out as this makes a total of 10 unconfirmed bouts for the October 11th show including a couple more fighters who still lack opponents. The main event features a number one contender bout between former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett. The winner will take on Fedor in a future WAMMA title bout.

Team Quest front man and top ten ranked middleweight Matt Lindland finally has an opponent for Affliction "Day of Reckoning" after his original opponent set for the event, Vitor Belfort was forced to withdrawal due to a lingering hand injury.

MMAJunkie.com, who just broke the news, says that sources close to the event have pegged experienced wrestler and UFC veteran Trevor Prangley as his opponent for the Oct. 11 event in Vegas.

Prangley, who only has five losses like his adversary, has competed in Multiple top tier organizations including the UFC, Strikeforce and Bodog FIGHT. His most recent victim was Falaniko Vitale who lost via decision at Strikeforce in November of 07.

trevor prangley

Prangley who has fought some of the toughest in the biz, should be a strong match up for the wrestler turned politician. Trevor has cranked off wins against the likes of Chael Sonnen, Andrei Semenov x2, Travis Lutter and Yuki Kondo.

Lindland has been busier outside of the cage than in over the past 16 months, only reeling off one victory which was over Fabio Negao at Affliction "Banned" in July. Lindland’s not afraid to mix it up and will take a fight in pretty much any weight class. The most obvious proof of this came in April of 2007 when "The Law" stepped into the ring with "The Last Emperor." He didn’t come out victorious but proved that he is fearless as a mixed martial artist.

Affliction "Day of Reckoning," which takes place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas, features a "WAMMA Elimination Bout" between former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and "The Babyface Assassin" Josh Barnett to see who will take on the Undisputed heavyweight king Fedor Emelianenko for all the glory.

According to Sherdog.com, Drew Fickett’s whirlwind ride under the EliteXC banner will soon come to an end. Representatives from the organization said that they plan on releasing the 28 year old from his contract due to relationship strains.

However, when one door closes, another opens up and Fickett is in negotiations with Affliction for a welterweight fight with IFL stand out Jay Hieron at "Day of Reckoning" in October. Hieron has verbally accepted the bout which would take place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas.

While Fickett and his manager have multiple offers on their plate, Affliction is "at the top of their list" according to Alexander Oxendine, Drew’s manager from 2 A-T Media.

The past year has been a crazy one for Fickett and his career with EliteXC never really seemed to get off the ground. Two title fights with EliteXC welterweight champ Jake Shields never saw the light of day, plagued by injuries on both sides of the table.

That didn’t stop the ground wiz from competing though even if it was on a smaller stage. Fickett has already participated in four events this year, coming out victorious in three of them. He has won six of his last seven fights finishing five of them with his patented submissions.

His manager says that Fickett is ready to get serious about his future.

“He’s ready to move forward and handle himself professionally,” says Oxendine of Fickett’s last few months. “He wants to take his fighting career seriously and to the next level.”

Jay Hieron, like Horodecki, got picked up by Affliction this month and will make his debut on October 11th. Affliction beat out offers from the UFC, EliteXC and Strikeforce to secure a three-fight deal with the welterweight last Friday. His one-year contract is non-exclusive which will allow him to fight for another promotion if need be.

Hieron made a name for himself in the former IFL, rising through the ranks to be crowned champion in December of 07. He was only able to defend his title once before the struggling promotion finally went under.

A new opponent for Chris Horodecki, who was recently snagged by Affliction after the IFL closed it’s doors for good, has finally been announced for Affliction "Day of Reckoning" in October.

The 20 year old prodigy and poster child for the now defunct International Fight League will face Dan Lauzon, the brother of TUF alumni and UFC vet Joe Lauzon who brought down the house with his upset victory over Jens Pulver back at UFC 63.

According to Sherdog.com, who broke the news today, both lightweights have agreed to the Oct. 11 bout but have yet to sign bout agreements. Apparently Lauzon is waiting to the see bout sheet for the fight before committing to a multi-fight deal with the organization.

Horodecki was a red hot commodity before Affliction scooped him up around the beginning of this month. "The Polish Hammer" signed a three fight deal with the organization who is looking to diversify their roster of fighters with some lighter weights for future cards.

Horodecki, who has been under the wing of the legendary Bas Rutten from day one, stormed through his first seven fights in the IFL winning all of them in impressive fashion. His epic run finally came to a halt at the World Grand Prix Finals at the end of 07 when he lost to Ryan Shultz via TKO. Chris picked up the pieces and rebounded with a victory over Nate Lamotte in April of this year. He hasn’t fought since then.

Dan Lauzon, another youngster with great potential, is currently flying high on a six fight win streak. He finished five of the six opponents with strikes and one with a submission. Dan is currently under a non-exclusive contract with World Championship Fighting, a Massachusetts-based organization run by Joe Cavallaro.

The "Prince of Darkness" will cast his shadow across MMA fans at Affliction’s upcoming "Day of Reckoning" event on October 11th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Ozzy will follow in the foot steps of Megadeth who fired up the crowd at Affliction’s inaugural show "Banned" in July at the Honda Center. Osbourne had been rumored to be performing at "Banned" but fellow shredders Megadeth took the spot.

MMAJunkie.com first confirmed the news although Affliction Clothing has yet to make it official. However, I did notice that they have some sort of contest in the works which may or may not be related to "Day of Reckoning."

In similar fashion to Megadeth, Ozzy will most likely perform his hits throughout the "Day of Reckoning" event beginning with a set to kick off the main pay-per-view card. If Megadeth was any indication of future fans acceptance of this new mixture of Metal and MMA, it should be one hell of a night at the Thomas & Mack Center come October 11th.

Several popular musicians are currently under contract with the successful clothing company including Ozzy. Osbourne has recently reached new heights in his career with the success of his hit reality show "The Osbournes." The former lead singer for Black Sabbath has sold over 100 million albums throughout his illustrious career.
