Fedor Emelianenko and "The Pitbull" Andrei Arlovski will be traveling to Sin City on October 11th to battle it out for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

According to an article on Yahoo! Sports, Affliction’s second event will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center, in the shadow of the UFC’s corporate headquarters. The official announcement for Affliction II is expected on Tuesday.

The news comes not even a week after Fedor claimed the first ever undisputed heavyweight crown at Affliction’s inaugural show "Banned". Fedor blasted through Sylvia with a barrage of punches and proceeded to choke him out in just 36 seconds.

Emelianenko wasn’t the only highlight at the star-studded event. The Arlovski of old battled it out with former IFL fighter Ben Rothwell and prevailed with a third round knockout.

The Thomas and Mack Center was home to the first and only Pride FC event held in America. The October 21st show featured a main event between Fedor Emelianenko and Mark Coleman. The organization was later purchased by the UFC and inevitably shut down. The director of the arena, Daren Libonati, spoke about Affliction’s upcoming show.

“We’re really excited to have Affliction in the building and particularly to have Fedor and all those other great names,” Libonati said. “I remember working so hard with all those people at PRIDE and the ultimate goal was to put on a show (at Sam Boyd Stadium, UNLV’s football stadium) where the PRIDE champions would have defended their titles against the UFC champions.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding Affliction’s second show.

Affliction is doing great.
- They are not sidelining Fedor for 9 months like the UFC usually does with champs.
- They are putting together great matchups. It had to be Fedor against Barnett or Arlovski, Couture’s fight may not be for a long long time, so Arlovski was the better choice for an american audience.
- They still have some mega-fights in the backburner. Fedor-Randy, Randy-Ortiz II, Fedor-Barnett, Arlovski-Randy, Ortiz-Babalu, Vitor-Ortiz II.

competition is great for us mma fans. i love it.

Yeah Affliction is off to a great start. If there second show is anything like their first we are in for a treat. So far the main event is better than the first so I can’t wait to see who else they add to the card.

If Arlovski is on his game come fight time, it’s going to be an awesome fight. Of course Fedor vs Barnett would be a great fight as well.

I’m lovin it!
