According to Keith Kizer of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Affliction’s sophomore event “Day of Reckoning” featuring a main event duel between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett, has been postponed until January of 2009.
Kizer confirmed the news with Sherdog.com this afternoon after being notified by Affliction on Wednesday morning.
In addition, the event will no longer take place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas, the backyward of the UFC’s corporate office. Instead Affliction’s encore show will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.
While the postponement is most likely the result of the venue change, it is still unclear as to why Affliction was forced to relocate from the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas.
Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
