On October 11th Affliction will attempt to duplicate the success of their explosive debut with an encore event titled "Day of Reckoning".

The popular clothing company turned MMA organization officially announced the event today on their website.

The main event will pit former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovski against Josh "The Babyface Assassin" Barnett.

Both fighters appeared on Affliction’s debut card "Banned" and both walked away with another notch on their victory belt. Arlovski KO’ d IFL star Ben Rothwell and Barnett avenged his loss to Pedro Rizzo with a second round knockout.

Fedor Emelianenko was originally slated to take on Arlovski in a bout with title implications but the Russian was inevitably scratched due to a hand injury. Fedor was one of nine fighters on the "Banned" card who received a medical suspension. Emelianenko was suspended for 180 days but can potentially be cleared early by a doctor is the injury isn’t serious.

Fedor alleviated any doubt of his number one pound for pound status with his 36-second bludgeoning of Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia at Affliction "Banned." His victory earned him the first ever WAMMA world heavyweight title and probably an array of new fans.

While Affliction has yet to officially announce any additional bouts, two key match ups have been reported. A bout between Vitor Belfort and Matt Lindland is rumored to take place as well as a bout between Tito Ortiz and Renato "Babalu" Sobral. There is also speculation that the Belfort vs Lindland fight could be for the vacant WAMMA middleweight belt.

Affliction is holding a pre-sale available to Affliction customers only that will begin at 1pm ET or 10am PT. The event takes place at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus in Las Vegas, NV.

According to Sherdog.com, a spot on Affliction’s "Day of Reckoning" fight card has been offered to IFL heavyweight champion Vladimir Matyushenko and Pride veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

A bout between IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson and Xtreme Couture fighter Jay White has been confirmed by MMANews.com.
