Abel Cullum Replaces an Injured Quach at ShoXC

21 year old Abel “The Silent Assassin” Cullum from New Mexico will step in to replace an injured Bao Quach against Wilson Reis at ShowXC on September 26th.

The two youngsters will battle it out in the main event for the first ever EliteXC Bantamweight Title. The event will take place at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, CA.

Quach was forced to withdrawal from the bout after he suffered an orbital bone fracture during training. At 11-1, Cullum, will make a formidable replacement for the less experienced Reis who is currently undefeated.

It will be a huge opportunity for Cullum who has spent the majority of his career fighting in smaller shows. Abel brings with him an impressive resume that includes: Current King of the Cage Flyweight Champion, 2X Southwest Fury Champion, and 5X Desert Extreme Bantamweight Champion.

Cullum is an aggressive stirker with a solid background in wrestling and an excellent ground game. He is extremely good at defending submissions which should bode well against the Brazilian Reis who has choked out three of his five opponents.

Wilson Reis has been on a tear since coming to EliteXC in January. Since then he has gone 3-0 most recently defeating Bryan Caraway via unanimous decision at “Unfinished Business” last month.

Here is how the ShoXC fight card is lining up so far:

  • Abel Cullum vs Wilson Reis
  • Shane Del Rosario vs Jon Murphy (out)
  • Monkhon WiWasuk vs David Douglas
  • Erik Apple vs Matt Makowski
